Mencast CEO, Glenndle Sim, presented Mencast’s class-certified AM marine propeller prototype to Minister for Manpower, Dr Tan See Leng at the NAMIC Additive Manufacturing Industry Showcase on 17 July 2024.
Successful Printing of Prototype AM Propellers
Mencast has collaborated with SimTech of A*STAR to successfully build and certify an additively manufactured marine propeller prototype. The AM propeller prototype was subjected to a series of mechanical tests and successfully certified by the American Bureau of Shipping and Lloyd’s Register of UK. With this successful endeavour, Mencast has cleared an important hurdle in the deployment of AM propellers on operational vessels.
